The Association of Wrens was formed in 1920 yet is still relevant today for those who wish to keep in touch with friends and colleagues from service days. The title of the organisation was changed at the AGM 2012 to read the Association of Wrens (Women of the Royal Naval Services).
Over 5,500 women members from both the UK and overseas share a unique camaraderie based on their determination that the spirit of the service is kept alive.
We are very pleased to have serving women of the Royal Navy as members of the Association and welcome this continuity with naval tradition.

AOW members: L/Phot Abbie Herron and L/Writer Becky Herron took time out for a PRO's 'dream' photoshoot at HMS HERON in December 2012.
Highlights of their careers have been for Abbie to be on board for the decommissioning of HMS ARK ROYAL, and Becky to be deployed in Afghanistan.
The sisters are the third generation of the family to serve in the Royal Navy. Abbie is featured on board ship on the AOW posters and application form.

Writer Megan Moir (Price), joined the Wrens in 1944 and was drafted to the HMS PHILANTE based at Larne, an anti-U boat training and escort vessel, before she relocated to the Kyle of Lochaish.
On board Megan recorded exercise test results from naval ships and submarines under training. She remembers standing on the bridge during night exercises; watching guns flashing, star shells, and lighthouse beams from far out in the Atlantic. Megan is going to the Battle of the Atlantic celebrations.
